If you get Weetabix on your bike though you're on your own. Baby wipes wont get that off a baby so no reason to assume they will on a bike.

Baby wipes every time. Clean anything off they will. Sinsberries fragrance-free does it for me.

Didn't the headline-making giant London sewer fatberg use baby wipes as connective tissue?

But don't flush the baby wipes. BBC had a show about water works and apparently baby wipes are the cause of many blockages.

Lidl 'Toujours' baby wipes get rid of most offensive and inoffensive substances.

Try Dettol (or similar, Tesco etc just as good) multi-surface wipes for wheel and frame cleaning. Especially good for Carbon but works on metal too. Non-abrasive but the chemicals shift most things without any risk of damage and leave a nice sheen. Obviously wipe braking surfaces dry straight after if riding soon. Added bonus can be a nice fresh smell on the bike if you choose the right fragrance! ;-)

Looks like I came in from a winter ride and wiped bike in cursory manner not realising I had been cycling through puddles with salt in them.

Thus chain seized and despite GT85 and WD40 sprayings, still four links stuck. Have put in bath of engine oil. Shall leave for period of time.

Back wheel has little white circular stains. I tried pan scourer gingerly, this was also wrong. But did it very gently. Now contemplating nail varnish remover.
