Ah thats probably okay, I've got disk specific rack I modified to fit the Genesis which is pretty rigid so the seat can only bounce so far.

As an aside, there is no blooming way I'd have a 22kg child on the bike. Unstable cargo that high up would make the bike very unstable never mind the extra weight!

hmmm...Hamax website says 'up to 22kgs' (48 pounds) (which is about what my - tall - 7 year old weighs!) Small brother only weighs 30 pounds.

Possibly MrSRD worrying too much, but I gather problem is that Hamax seat is pressing down on blackburn rack, which is lacking a bolt on one side, so then rubbing on mudguards. (I hadn't totally understood the prob when originally posting, since I hadn't seen bike).

So, if bolt fixed then hamax would just bump top of rack. Or you could take off rack (don't really want to do that). I think Mr SRD's feeling is that if Hamax is that bendy, do we really want him in it? even if it is supposedly still under limit?

Also, our Hamax is older than one on website. don't know if weight limits the same or not?

SRD, how heavy is your little one? I've not had mine on the bike since I broke my MTB last summer and I'm worried he'll not be able to go on it now. He'll be very disappointed, especially if his little sister can go on it.

Now there are a mere two unused Blackburn racks perched atop my kitchen cupboards: the back end of the broken one (which I was going to use to make an EX2-extra dog-leg-equivalent-bit for others to keep panniers out of spokes) and a bent one I found int he bike station which couldn't take a seat but would do as a pannier-capable spare.

Yep, though it's the slightly older style which smoothly fits our Limo but onto which the Taxi has to be persuaded.

I've given away a couple of these in recent years (one on my old bike, one that came with a second hand seat we bought), but suddenly we find ourselves in need again (existing one is broken, small boy getting too big for hamax seat).

Does anyone have one going spare?
