Not-so-good things about Caanan Lane are the road surface, cars generally breaking the speed limit and the exit onto Newbattle Terrace.

Actually I get wound up walking along it due to the flagrant speed limit breaking, but that is my fault, I should not get wound up about such things.

I gave Canaan Lane as my favorite street, as it has a mandatory cycle lane, yellow lines, speed bumps, zebra crossing and is genuinely a nice street to walk or cycle along.

I have no idea how the Council will analyse the results of the survey though as there seems to be no attempt to understand why people like/dislike the streets included in the survey.

I gave up on this survey in frustration after a few of the "rate the street" questions as they are so unhelpful to drawing a conclusion.

Giving a simple Like/Dislike to such vague headings as "parking" or "space for pedestrians" is uninformative. For example, do I dislike the street because there is too much parking or too little? Or that I think the design of the parking provision is good or bad?

Without filling in the "additional comments" box on every single question then I think you could draw almost any conclusion you want from this survey.

Does the NEPN appear on Edinburgh council's list of adopted streets?

I've just answered my own question:
list_of_public_roads_in_edinburgh. So my answer is now Roseburn Path.

Strangely the link I found in another thread now points to information about voting.

I also put MMW as my favourite street (the design manual defines 'no frontage' streets as a type of street, but seems to suggest they prioritise motor traffic and MMW is a good counterexample).

The questionnare can be tackled without reading the report. The first half is a selection of "comment about this road in the picture" type pages. Half way through you are given the option to bail-out when it gets to the bit to comment on the report.

Thanks. Far too big for me to read at the moment but I see that they reference both the Sustrans Design Manual (boo) and two editions of the CROW manual (hooray).
