Great beer (it was presented CAMRA's Lothian Pub of the Year award on Saturday), and you can park your bike in the beer garden or lash it to a lamp post outside. Espy is my all time favourite hangout but it has horrible bike parking. With all the cyclists on the prom, it seems like a missed opportunity. Pubs and walking is something I like to combine.</p> <p>There are racks near the grey horse in Balerno but the pub is better after dark with the fire going which is hardly conducive to cycling.</p> <p>There is a pub near the forth and Clyde canal I had a couple of good pints in on a day out to the Falkirk wheel. You can get liquor in the wheel cafe but that is not a pub. But come off the union canal and head along the forth and Clyde wee bit. There's a beer garden, plenty of space to leave bikes at the back and there's a cycle-path almost all the way. Can't remember what it's called.</p> <p>And there's the Gothenburg in Prestonpans. Not a normal pub but a sort of community enterprise so you can take children in.
