My 3 y.o. learned to ride his bike last week - he has remarkable balance if not much sense of direction. he also needs to work on pedaling up hill. We'll get him stokering as soon as i get my crank-shorteners back from Laidback....

But it is a lovely feeling that we can now go places as a family with everyone under their own power/contributing to our progress.

Big smile from me too.

My mum is also a carer for my dad. A couple of years ago, I took her along to Laid Back to try a Paperbike which she bought (she needed something with a very low step through frame). It took her a couple of months to get used to it, but she now gets out 3 or 4 times a week for a 20 minute bike ride around Duns and it's part of what's keeping her sane.

at the risk of sounding trite 'thanks for sharing'

Big smile here on reading that - much needed as surrounded by stacks of exams needing to be marked.

At last I managed out on a bike today and I enjoyed it SO much! I am still a carer for my dad and the Scenery Watcher (sadly my mum died last March) but time is a bit more flexible and I have bought a cheap folding bike to keep in the car so that I can have a wee shot any chance I get. I am somewhat limited in free time due to drop off and collection of SW ( activities 3 days a week 10-3.30, & at home rest of time) and duties for Dad, so wee pootles will be the limit of it just now. I feel so much better after just a short ride on the wee bike and am fired with enthusiasm now. If I can wangle a bit more free time I might even get the full size bike out of the shed for a longer ride. Happy, happy, happy!
