She wondered 'what the hell' the Grand Départ was doing in Leeds: "Why??!!!" I explained Yorkshire had won the bid over Edinburgh: she was much more enthusiastic about the idea of le Tour starting in Edinburgh, her adopted home. She was about to leave on holiday to her birthplace, "I will be IN le Tour." However, she also said that growing up she was taken to watch le Tour "religiously every July".
