People with children identify with the street they live in, the school their children attend, a football team etc. But not sure structures such as council wards have are something people have an affinity towards? This natural neighbourhood seems to be an attempt to marry up your post code with the area you feel you live in. This works for me as I live in a suburban village that goes into the hills I identify with and is where my kids go to school and this is all in the one monoculture natural neighbourhood. Small number of Massive neighbourhoods to the west of Edinburgh including the non-neighbourhood of ingilston gogar Edinburgh airport. Then big number of much smaller neighbourhoods to the east. Reflects an earlier configuration of Edinburgh as out to the bypass. Beyond which lay other councils. My neighbourhood is clearly the suburb/village where I life so I will be agreeing with their quick survey but will be interested in what others think as sometimes boundaries drawn by organisations.
