Fast trains to Glasgow don't stop at Edinburgh Park. Slow trains via Bathgate and Airdrie do. You can get two bike boxes in a black cab, but there's not much leg room for the cyclists... A bike in a box is not a bike for the purpose of putting it on a train.

Citylink run a direct bus to Glasgow from the airport. Might be worth a look.

I would have thought they could put the boxes on the tram. Then change at Edinburgh Park or Haymarket for a train to Glasgow. If they're arriving in the peak travel time may be some issues with luggage space, but off-peak should be fine.

Bike boxes can also be carried in luggage compartment of Citylink buses, might save a trip into Edinburgh.

Bikes in boxes can be treated as suitcases on trains, the airlink express #100 or the #35.

I have a couple of folk arriving at Edinburgh airport, they have asked me if you can leave bike boxes at the airport. My search of the airport site says you can but at £10.00 a day it's pretty expensive(they will be here for two weeks, beginning a tour in Glasgow and leaving Edinburgh).
Any other suggestions would be welcome?
My other thought was if they could take their bikes, still in their bike boxes onto the tram or bus to Haymarket, then travel onward to Glasgow from Edinburgh. I've searched the tram website but can find nothing there about bikes yet? Any helpful thoughts folks? I don't think bikes in boxes will be welcome on a scheduled Scotrail service either? So it may be they need to link with an East Coast Glasgow service to manage that. All helpful suggestions welcomed, thank you.
