Madame IWRATS likes a purple potato. I have an austere presbyterian streak with which they do not fit. My favourite potato of all time is the French standard 'Ratte', but it is hard to get here. Pink Fir Apple is neither pink nor furry. Neither is it an apple but it does have a similar waxy flesh to Ratte.

This year has been Pentland Javelin. My lacadaisical watering routine has seen them develop scab, but that's only skin deep. There appeared to be loads the other night when I cut down the shaws.

I adore eau de vie de poire - the ultimate fruit drink, possibly due to my lush catholic streak.

@iwrats looks like we have similar tastes in potables such as pea potages,, perry type ales etc. I wonder do you like purple potatoes? I have done Ok Iwith the salad blue (stays purple all through cooking) and a purple skinned variety, that turns slightly charcoal in the cooking. If I had been here to water during the hot last three weeks would have been a bonanza

@gembo

By suggesting fruit beer as a suitable substitute for food, your stock - already valuable in my eyes - has risen considerably on the IWRATS250 listings.

Has had a bit of a tidy up and the flowers are blooming. Can take a few more people than I recalled.

The publican is on holiday so no Chinese food at the moment but they had the Williams bros Grozet gooseberry beer on and now they have same brothers Birds and bees

If you are coming out the WoL path on a sunny day might be something to consider
