I see it literally every day, everywhere I go. If such large numbers of drivers were instead swugging from bottles of whisky while driving there would be a huge outcry, surely. For instance I have used Siri on an iPhone to send a text to say I'm running late - no hands and less distraction than a call. It's one button on the steering wheel then speaking "text xxxx I'm running late and will be with you in 5 minutes" the message is read back and the. All I have to say is "send".
