Like the DDA the EA doesn't include details like path design for access. It's more of a set of guiding principles. In this case I think the Act would support the view that reasonable measures should be taken to remove this barrier to access for people in wheelchairs or with other mobility problems. The EA (and DDA) don't specify which guidelines to use - DIN, ISO, BSA, Sustrans. It was pretty tight, you couldn't cycle thorugh it (and presumabaly contravened the Disability Discrimination Act). </p> <p>They could have removed both barriers but hey let's not go completely crazy! </p>
