Driving in those heels? I remember the movie Kinky Boots and the trouble Chiwetel Ejiofor had getting his boots. He should have stuck to the swords

"Re brake fluid - obviously I was joking hence the ;)"

Appreciated and no offence intended, just like I say I worry that some young hothead reads it and goes "good idea I'll do that...". Alles Klar :-)

OTT Drag Queens don't bother me, I think they add a bit of much needed colour to the world.. and you'll never look at an Audi driver again without mentally picturing big hair ott makeup etc lol
Mind you, it's probably very good for diffusing road rage ;-))

ps. Don't the led lights on Audis remind you of the big sparkly eyelashes favoured by drag queens? I always think of them when I see a big Audi and it puts quite a different complexion on the image of the car ;-))

Re: Edinburgh Chariot spike, that would be naughty, tri bars however....

Re: Fairly liquid bottle, please don't do/recommend than, it reduces us to their level, makes us the illegal ones and gives the anti bike nutters fuel, and even if you are joking *someone* will take it at face value and use it on some unsuspecting mum who's just made a mistake in a moment of inattention.
Airzound, it's legal (they presumably haven't seen you (Officer)), and it is both unexpected and very embarrasing for most car drivers ;-)
Also if it is some otherwise innoffensive person who has just made a one off mistake/bad judgement you don't saddle them with a bill of thousands and an everlasting hatred of cyclists...

Ah is that why those new Audis with the perma-on row of aggressive-looking LEDs around the headlights are piloted by such courteous drivers who always wave you through ahead of them?

Maybe it's the smugness of hybrid/electric owners that will make them like an earlier generation of Volvo drivers who, because their sidelights were always on, expected people to get out of the way...

and a hybrid to which I took the triple joy in the win

So it's you that's wound the hybrid drivers up? :)

Had a Prius try a new one on me today at the lights at Western Corner (heading east). I was in the inside lane, approaching the queue of traffic waiting at the lights and beginning to coast so that I arrived in time for the lights changing and wouldn't have to stop/start. I was about 2/3 of the way across the lane to stop anyone getting any ideas about overtaking and boxing me into the parking bays on the left when the Prius decides to undertake me by cruising past in the (empty) parking bays and then moving across in front of me, forcing me out of my lane and meaning I had to filter between the lines of traffic just as it was beginning to pull away (which I hate doing, as it completely takes the initiative away from you and leaves you pretty vulnerable)

"erstrain myself"

Sounds painful!

I read that guys comment and basically dismissed him as een moron. I raced a Hybrid Honda into town this morning, caught him at Manse Road and dropped him at Semple Street. I'm sure this applies to lots of cars through the week but i remember the hybrid because it looked quite nice, was brand spankin and a hybrid to which I took the triple joy in the win. Traffic was quite light this morning and i'm still on the mtb with my rubbish semi slicks i put on for my trip so thats not even a quick bike.

Even if we were both coming to my office i still need a shower so he would be ready to work but then i probably got out of bed an hour later and i'll still have to do my 8 hours so no net loss.

Intriguing comment from one ex-(obsessive) cyclist: "It takes longer to cycle, even short distances all year round on average."

Actually, worthwhile looking at some of his other reasons, which seem to run counter to, certainly, what I experience: "Health, cycle commuting takes it's toll physically. You can end up cycling, because it's routine, when carrying viruses which can contribute to lengthy post viral fatigue... If you get enough people doing this, you could measure the effect"

I get ill much less and feel physically much better now than when I didn't cycle. I also get about to place at least as fast, if not much faster when the schools are back, than in the car, and definitely faster than by bus.

"Even in the more temperate season, Scotland can have days of all seasons. So what to wear, tee shirt or waterproofs, with wicking base-layers, are a bit much, when your boss is shouting about deadlines!"

Er. What does your boss shouting have to do about deadlines? I get the feeling this person isn't a cyclist, he also complains about the time needed to shower while the boss is keeping track of the watch. But if you can shower at work why not skip it at home, therefore no time lost whatsoever?

He concludes with: "Now, I drive a Jeep!"
