No damage done to rider and only a scrape on chaingaurd.</p> <p>After that we became really busy - <em>nothing like perceived danger to boost interest? ;-).</em></p> <p>Thanks to SRD and family for lending their bike and helmets. Well done on what is quite an ambitious cycle for smaller legs!</p> <p>Some photos posted on Flickr and will link here tomorrow.</p> <p>That's the fourth year for us out there. That was fun. Follows a cycle streets route. Got going at 8.50. Had tea and tunnocks caramel logs at 9.50 on the shore at prestongrange. Then carried on into port seton, crossed the rail line at a level crossing and then a wee road through to Bangly Hill - this was just lovely. Then past the hometown monument and athelstaneford to East fortune. We spent a fair bit of time checking the map up until we got to the monument (after which it was well signposted). Now that we know it, it should be easier. In the past we've trained to Drem then cycled. But this was lovely and we got to. East fortune just before 12. </p> <p>Not bad for a 7yo and 3yo. All our bikes had 20" wheels, and once again we could really see the effects of the Beinn small gear ratios and shirt cranks. Her poor legs were spinning madly even when the rest of us were coasting. </p> <p>A good afternoon - even had a few punters on our tandem in addition to the one that laidback had taken. </p> <p>many, many thanks to recombodna for trucking our bikes back, leaving us free to hop on a train to haymarket for Chop Chop's first serving - their food then is always miles better than later in the night.
