Much cheaper option would be a bike cover that does fit?

Has anyone got/used any particular make of bike boxes before? I've got two bikes parked next to a wooden fence in the open air, and other than a rather too small Dahon folding bike cover over the standard bike, there isn't much to protect them through the winter. I'm trying to keep my shed clear for laundry...Any tips/ones for sale?

I rigged up a pulley system in my hall cupboard. It's perfect for storing my shiny road bike as it's no longer in the way of kids and vacuum cleaners. Not sure if your flat has high ceilings too but if so, it might have some unused space above head level which could be utilized in this way.

SRD we have a sizeable garage under our flat, there is some space inside the stairwell too, I have hung my old BSO from the banisters and could hand yours from mine. Pop round for a look if you like.

Could you take the wheels and chain off and store them in side? Coat the deraliers in heavy grade lube? That should stop them picking up too much moisture then when you take it back out of storage give them a good clean and put a normal light lube on. Give the Seatpost a very good greasing to stop it seizing in the frame. Not sure about stopping the headset from going bad if its properly greased it should be ok though.

Well, I did get out for a gentle cycle yesterday, which felt good, but will probably be off my commute for the next 3-5 months. So I was wondering if anyone had any clever ideas about how to keep my bike from totally destructing?

There's no room in the flat, or the staircase, so it lives outside. I can't see putting a rack, hooks etc into the outside tenement wall, so hanging it up not an option. I do have an EBC cover, which seems pretty flimsy, but is probably better than nothing (although have seem some better looking ones online).

The bike is not in great shape, but am unlikely to be able to replace it this year, so would like to keep it at least ride-able.

Unless anyone has a spare hook in their garage to offer is there anything else I can do?
