I've almost finished building a rack for my Y-Frame which will carry 2 bikes on it. Still needs a few tweaks. I'll post some pics when finished.

On weight limits don't forget the 90kg only applies to solid bolted rear wheels and up to 15mph. For quick release wheels and higher speeds its 45kg.

Very easy to exceed 15mph when travelling downhill with a load on. Not so easy to slow down again!

@ARobComp

Surely a 'flat baby' is ideal for someone who needs to get 'stuff from an old flat'?

Uberuce has merely proffered the ideal trailer for the task. Your subconcious mind on the other hand....

The Bullitt lives outside anyway, with a suitably large chain...

It's pretty long at nearly 2.5m long!

Thanks so much for all the kind offers. I picked up the trailer from Uberuce last night and it's great. (Didn't want to have to store the bullet outside Roibeard).

Cycled into work with it this morning and shall take some photos of my transport solutions this evening!

Really easy wee thing to use. Although Uberuce did call it his "flat baby" which I found a touch disturbing.

I was going to chip in with an offer of a trailer (choice of three) but I can see it's pointless...

An alternative to the trailer, would be a cargo bike - if you fancy a shot on the Bullitt give me a shout. It's currently in flat bed mode, so you'd need to strap a box on top...

It's got a 180 kg limit, but that includes the cyclist!

I have same trailer as Ooberoos. Consider it a backup option. Currently have a big red box (an "80 litre jobby" as Berruce might say) on the back, useful for flinging random things in that would otherwide fall off/out.

Hah! I think I need something fairly heavy duty so perhaps Uberuce you'd be so kind as to led me yours. Will drop you a "text message" or perhaps an e-mail whichever you're likely to be up for.

(90kg limit means that I can also move my electric skateboard which weighs 40kg...)

Thanks for all the offers!

I think I once pulled 3x 100kg plus rugby players, myself (103kg at the time) and rickshaw (100kg) from pub on St vincent street up to George street. Think those chaps paid me a £80 bounty for that... Used to get much less pulling similar sized men and women up from the grassmarket up westport, victoria street, and others.

In the spirit of XKCD, I wonder how many trailers you'd need to be dragging before you just couldn't move even along Cramond or the like.

Obviously the lower the gearing, the higher the number, so we'd have to set a ground rule of off-the-peg bikes with off-the-peg gearing.

The sickening thing is that ARobComp can probably pedal with 90kg hitched to his bike...

That wasn't you trailing a fridge down Gilmerton Road on Sunday was it?

Hi guys,

I need to get some stuff from an old flat and transport to various places around town. Not one for murray moves unfortunately, but certainly might be good to use a trailer for. Never had one before so keen to give it a go. Does anyone have one I could borrow for a few days? It will be kept locked in my back garden under a tarp and locked if necessary.

Any assistance much appreciated. I live in Murrayfield area but able to pick up from most places and drop off also.
