It isn't wide enough for one thing, and a vulnerable person at night might well not feel safe there.</p> <p>But it's ideal for big ugly eccentrics like me. I love the baffled looks from people waiting for the bus at Myreside Court as you hop the kerb and vanish down a rabbit hole. I like the way the trees have curled over the path forming a...green roof. And it <em>was</em> you that informed me of its existence, when I thought I knew all the wrinkles in the south side.</p> <p>@LivD</p> <p>The path is quite useable on wide road tyres still. When it pelts it down the dip just before Colinton Road does get a little twitchy, but only for a few days. I concur. I no longer use the route that IWRATS has (somewhat arbitrarily, I feel) named after me because it got so muddy. I did spend one tiring afternoon some years ago walking down with a shovel and putting all the mud over the railway fence, but it soon came back.
