It is a Z33WP so is the waterproof one. It has a 3x optical zoom which I find pretty good. Sometimes I zom in but I find atm with phone camera the images are not great on zoom, so really a basic camera with the fast 'startup' time. It will sit in my jersey rear pocket hence w/proofness and ruggedness incase it bounces out, gets dropped. My other half has an older powerhsot but its massive and like most cameras with a retractable lense takes time time to startup. I don't really need a large screen either so long as I can see I have what I want in the shot. </p> <p>I saw on my last long ride squirrels, stags and a buzzard up close but by the time I got my phone out, unlocked it, increased the brightness so I could see what I was doing, started up the camera.... I get my meaning? I want to just pull out the camera and hold down the button and take a picture, like old film cameras. Do you need it to be small enough to fit into the pocket of a set of baggies or the rear pocket of a bicycling jerseytop (thereby indicating a need for a collapsible lens)? Do you demand a bare minimum of at least one semi-manual exposure mode? It takes a while to dig it out, then faff around with gloves and touchscreens to unlock, activate camera and get a photo... What I miss is a point and shoot <em>FAST!!</em> camera which has no real need for batteries - thought I know that film isn't the way to go as I like to upload and share my pictures. Does anyone know of a small light camera, with a fast instant click facility which won't need expensive power hungry proprietery batteries, i.e. AA/AAA which I can pull out and snap shots with without breaking the bank. It doesn't need to have a million fab functions and gadgets, but just be FAST, Auto focus, last years on a single cheap AA battery, and have a rugged case incase I drop it!</p> <p>Cheers, Dave C </p>
