Can't help thinking that the civil servants who agonised over the document would have been better deployed with angle grinders to remove chicanes from paths around the country. Or just sent out to cycle on the A84 or through the center of Glasgow. Ideas that may have been dismissed with a "haha, good luck with that" will not be rejected so easily or so quickly. Anyway, I've dropped my MSP a (rather long) line pointing out some practical ways that the Scottish Government could start to make good on its vision, in her consituency by creating decent paths along the A985, looking at school travel and routes for commuters to train stations. I've asked her to take these up with the new minister.
