After looking at NMW last night I did something I've never actually done before: crossed Melville Drive from NMW heading towards Leven Terrace and Valleyfield St.

But because of the resurfacing works, Leven Terrace round to Glengyle Terrace was closed...and Valleyfield is one-way. Bit of a trap, legally speaking, for cyclists who've just emerged from the little cut-through.

The No Entry signs at Melville Drive are essential without temporarily making Valleyfield St two-way.

I noticed this morning that the entrance to Leven Terrace from the Melville Drive end is now sporting No Entry signs - is this new ?

@chdot Ah good, that is where I thought. Yes - not sure if it is folk turning into Leven Terrace from the Meadows and then turning right into Valleyfield Street when they get to the barriers, or whether it's those parked taking a short cut. One surprised me just as I was turning in from the Kings Theatre end.

It's Glengyle (and presumably round corner into Leven).

" quite a few drivers who turn into that street against the temporary no entry signs and then proceed against the one way system"

You mean they are turning right into Valleyfield?

And whilst the work has been getting done there has been quite a few drivers who turn into that street against the temporary no entry signs and then proceed against the one way system. Almost got hit by one of them yesterday morning (unless I'm getting this picture confused with somewhere else).

if that's where i think it is, I would have left it. impossible to speed on before. terrible rat run. smooth surface will make it far less pleasant for everyone living there.

Nice to see, been unpleasant for years, but there are much more dangerous stretches on nearby main roads!
