You are now formally injuncted from contacting Madame IWRATS by any means electronic or otherwise. If I wake up with my beard crocheted into a hat the consequences will fall to be borne by you.

@paddyirish: Socks is the current solution when the boots are manky, but I tend to slide. Socks+slippers requires laundry syncronisation.

@IWRATS: Amen to that. I live in hiking boots from September to March. If I could get away with knee-highs, I would.

@chdot: changes to rules require 3/4 forum voting majority?

@wingpig: No.

@SRD: Interesting, but postage...

@acsimpson: Aha!

@dougal: In excess of the Winter Present Allowance, sadly.

@IWRATS (again): don't encourage wingpig.

Liking @wingpig's take. Suggest extra blokeness by using foam pipe lagging to make the ankle cuffs and then cable-tying this to the slipper body.

It would have to be sheepskin for me. Warm in the winter but not sweaty in the summer.

http://www.justsheepskin.com/product/36147/mens-chester-sheepskin-slippers/

If lightweight pack-ability is more your thing you could always go for down:
http://www.thenorthface.com/catalog/sc-gear/womens-nse-tent-bootie-ii.html

Although getting them in this country is a little tricky.

Normal low slippers plus a couple of bits of fleece sewn onto the tops to make ankle-warmers?

Get some smaller full-ankle things, cut off the toes and insert a fleece tube to make them long enough?

I'm not even going to try and pretend this is on-topic for a cycling forum*.

I can't find any slippers that would fit my size nine feet and keep my ankles warm. This seems unfair.

Ms DarkerSide is blessed with an array of cosy, fleece-lined examples extending halfway up her leg. All I can find in the man-sized section are pathetic low slip-on things.

The obvious solution (wearing walking boots around the house) is causing some domestic strife.

Thoughts from the floor (aha)?

*Maybe we could pretend that slippers warm the lower limbs before cycling on cold days, and are therefore a performance aid?
