Highest quality score *and* lowest price (pretty much half the price of all of the others by the looks of things), can't argue with that assuming they got it right.

No mention of infra as far as I can see, but hopefully they can drop some strong hints for the council around arterial routes...

Grontmij - Our leading principle is Sustainability by Design.

Good. That should sort it!

Design will effectively influence behaviour so walking and cycling is always placed ahead of the private car?

Their Edinburgh office will I'm sure have a good bike park and the City Car Club can rent them cars.

"

Our Vision is to make cycling an everyday way to travel in Birmingham over the next 20 years. We want 5% of all trips in the city to be made by bike by 2023 and to double this again to 10% by 2033. This will help to make our city healthier, greener, safer and less congested.

"

http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/birminghamcyclerevolution

"

The ‘Birmingham Cycle Revolution’ will transform cycle travel in the city by providing improvements to 95 kilometres of existing route and 115 kilometres of new routes within 20 minutes cycling time of the city centre.

The project covers eight main arterial routes into the city centre, as well as generally quieter routes running parallel to the main corridors, which will link to local schools, health centres, parks and other community facilities. These routes are designed to be suitable for less experienced commuter cyclists as well as family trips. Twenty mph zones will be introduced in residential streets and in the vicinity of schools.

Other measures include improving routes into and through the city centre and providing suitable links between the main cycle network and the off-road routes along canals, river valleys and parkland.

...

Mike Batheram, director at WSP, said: “There will be an estimated four million daily trips in Birmingham by 2031, so it’s crucial that active and sustainable transport, such as walking and cycling, is encouraged as much as possible.
