That video should carry a warning that it suffers from vertical video syndrome. If it included the sides it might show more of interest.

Seems the dog-walkers now document what they see as bad cyclists too (wasn't sure where to put this unremarkable video)

There's an example here, http://www.vogelvrijefietser.nl/artikel/hond-naast-de-fiets-met-beugel, if you google 'fietsbeugel' you get lots of things looking equally dodgy.

Cycling with a dog was very common in Utrecht. There was some kind of contraption on the frame through which the lead would run, but I never quite understood how it worked. Still, I never saw any accidents and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

I spent several minutes debating my own sanity this morning when I saw that woman and dog.

Either we're both crackers or she is, Nelly. Terrible idea.

I was driving today - bad back - and there was a lady cyclist on Lothian Road (well pavement) on her bike, with a wee doggy running alongside.

I couldnt decide if it was a brave or foolhardy way to exercise both dog and owner?

Leash wasnt very long, I would worry about dog/spoke interactions.

Heading west to muirhouse on NEPN just after five ways at 09.45 this morning, jogger called his wire haired terrier to heel as I slowed to pass. I said thank you. He said he has no road sense.

A bit later woman with three mutts running hither and yon for whom I slowed. I did not say anything, but slightly hard stare.

On return another dog was called to heel by owner.

That is three in two days..

Covered SW, Central, NW, Central and SE Edinburgh today. Was also due in NE but found could not be in two places at once.
