However I would phone first to see if that is hub gear.</p> <p>Mr G at EBC used to service my nexus 8 but not sure this is permitted now.</p> <p>The problems you relate were same as I had with nexus 8. Nexus 8 had two separate series of four gears and the jump from 1-4 onto the 5-8 range or vice versa was always the first thing to go. If I play with the up and down levers it eventually changes down. It's done this occasionally but couple of times recently I've still been stuck in the big gear when the hill arrives.</p> <p>Sticky cable or more serious?</p> <p>And the tonight have replaced the tube in my rear tyre I was rotating the pedals while it was on the stand and noticed that the wheel rotated backwards when I rotated the wheels backwards.</p> <p>I assume this means the freewheel is kaput?</p> <p>Two main questions:</p> <p>1. Do I need to send the hub somewhere to get it serviced?<br /> 2. Could it wait until Easter when the bike isn't in daily service? </p>
