The big manufacturers (and the volume own-brand merchants like Planet X and Ribble) will be able to negotiate better deals from suppliers in the Far East because of the sheer size of their orders. </p> <p>I don't work in the trade though, so it's pure speculation. If you select brand = 'Revolution', all the bikes that come up are 2013/2014 models, and all are in the sale. Anyone know any more about that? Maybe the bike market is so competitive now that their margins are too low on these, so once they've shifted the old stock then that's it. It comes with FSA crank and Shimano Sora 2 x 9 speed groupset but you can currently buy the new 2 x 11 speed Shimano 105 groupset for as little as ~"298.99 (2015) online currently.</p> <p>That seems like a lot of bike for under a grand. </p>
