magnetic parts bowl for £1.99 in Poundstretcher - what sort of pound shop is that?

it certainly stretched my pound. All the way to £1.99 it did.

My dear departed dad used to make me laugh, he would say, I've just been up the pound shop in Ayr High Street, I got four of these screwdrivers, guess how much they cost?

Hi anth, sorry but they are all gone. There are plenty of cycle computers, gloves, mini foot-pumps, children's h*****s, saddle mount tool-kits and a few tops. I couldn't even see where the price ticket had been for the workstands.

continuing the theme of cheap cycly bits, I was making a once in a decade trip into a Poundstretcher today as part of my mission to buy a wicker basket no larger than 16x16x8" and came away with a magnetic parts bowl for £1.99 (The blue Park Tool one going for c. £7.99)

I don't mind the EBC stand really - it's not very useful for the recumbent, but otherwise it does the trick (mainly used for things like recabling which are fiddly but not forceful).

I fitted new cranks to my MTB following on from my recent smash. Not sure I would have cared to try that in the EBC stand, I had to jam the bike in a corner of the stairwell to get it secure enough to haul on!

If I ever get a garage I'm going to get a proper Park shop stand that is bolted to the floor...

That good, eh? That's possibly why mine is made by Park, rather than Marwi. But any workstand beats crouching on the floor for hours!

To be honest the stand looks better than the EBC one (which I have owned for a few years) - it might be flimsy and crap in practice but the photos show a better layout of legs and also a nifty handlebar-straightening device...
