It's a little annoying to put on, but I've got a chest harness that works quite nicely as a compromise (no helmet but don't want it on bars)

I do like the smooth unwobbliness of helmet cameras and their ability to peer through car windows to record people using their phones, but don't wear an helmet. Now that I'm not commuting most days I got out of the habit of always having a bag with a shoulder strap, but might resume if the handlebar-rattling gets too annoying.

I use an SJCAM GoPro clone (SJ4000 wifi - there are probably newer models available now) clipped to the left-hand strap on my rucksack using a wrap-around clip-on strap mount akin to item number 403071290565 on the 'bay. Carrying it on my person rather than fitting it to the bike means that it comes with me whichever of my bikes I'm riding.

I dislike mounts which put the camera on the bike itself - I think they're too low down to give a decent view, and I find the video footage nauseatingly wobbly when the camera is mounted on the handlebars. Helmet mounted cameras are even worse in that respect IMO.

I tried a VeHo MUVI in 2011ish, but it was so rubbish I sent it back. It had a wee button on it which rattled and was the decider for returning it, but I can't really remember what the video quality was like - I think it was quite blurry as it only had a tiny wee lens. I see VeHo are still making things (WEX has at least one) but it looks a bit more like a vlogging and influencing camera rather than bike/action.

Has anyone bought one of these uber cheapo (£30ish) bike cams that was OK?
