Scooters is the term used for motorcycles less than 50cc.<br /> The TRO is for all motorbikes not confined to engine size. Its very worrying. And using terms such as 'motorised bikes' really does water down the concept of what is proposed. Because it makes folks think of electric bikes or small powered bikes. Seemingly the TROs are for 'motorised bikes' to be allowed into bus lanes. Not sure when 'motorbike' became 'motorised bike' but there is a huge difference of concept and what folks might think of when using these two different terms.<br /> Yet LeithCentralCC used the term 'motorised bike' on twitter this evening when tweeting about motorbikes being allowed into bus lanes.<br /> I know I sound pedantic, but language, and the concepts it represents and how it does this is one way that decisions are manipulated. And I do feel there is a big issue here in a tweets from community councils playing down the concept of 'motorbike' by representing this as 'motorised bikes'. It is incomprehensible that there can be any other reading of this other than an effort to minimalise the idea of motorbikes sharing bus lanes: after all the term used was longer (taking up more characters) than the proper term. </p>
