The coffee is awful and you have to drink it out of china cups iirc. It's a nice spot, with a view of the gardens and the power station chimneys. I discovered Cockenzie House two years ago. Proper home made cakes and a refreshing change from the usual shops; you felt like you were contributing to something worthwhile locally. </p> <p>It sounds like we've lost the best tea stop in East Lothian. The Great Tapestry of Scotland was shown there. It's a bit of a rabbit warren inside.
