These EURO standards also don't cover particulate emissions from diesels sooty stuff called Diesel Particulate Matter, made up of a very long list of particularly nasty compounds and with particle sizes down to the nano size that there's no real current way to do anything about like filter.</p> <p>One wonders how much of the SMMT's concern is about the fact the industry has been falling over itself to invest in diesel production and promote it to the buyer as a clean, healthy and green alternative to petrol-power. </p>
