This is lazy thinking, and deliberately adversarial. Most people do a mixture of things, and pretty much everyone is a pedestrian in the end. The proposals have been welcomed by cyclists and some environmentalists. However motorists point out that speeds are already lower due to congestion, so the safety benefits are overstated, and that further restrictions are unnecessary.’ </p>
