A colleague locked his bike to mine in the car/bike park last year.

I needed to get home early so was not best pleased. Was about to resort to nuclear option - use my spare lock to lock his to mine - with a note detailing my displeasure - when he arrived in the car park.

Suffice to say he was very sheepish and got me a bottle of red to say sorry - nice chap !

I was dealing with our IT people in the USA last week, and the - very helpful chap - said that if I had any further issues, please dont hesitate to reach out to him...............I think he meant, pick up the phone !!

Dark rooms were great. You could avoid a whole double period of art in there in peace. Our art teacher often did, boom, boom

Smell of chemicals was only drawback. If head teacher caught him having a ciggy he was in bother.

Wood burning stove is the way forward. Get the stovax thermometer and keep it burning at 300 degrees Celsius and your weekend is sorted. Always get the smallest one possible and burn it above the 300 but never more than 600 and you have optimised the output.

An Australian expression I am not fond of but use is No worries.

Faculty head worked in the US so she says "touch base".

Got past first base years ago. Not sure if it was a good move, might have been better to get a wood burning set.

Our bike shed needs a key which is held by a redoubtable lady in the office. Going back and forwards with the key is too much effort and my bikes fit under the desk anyway. If I use a big bike or Longstaff it sits in the former dark room.

Wee bike shed at T high was used for kayaks. Big bike sheds empty. Quite a few buggies in the bike shed at c high I now have the code for the pupil bike shed lock at B high but staff bike shed padlocked. Lots of covered bike sheds in edinburgh high schools. Lots of bike racks in Edinburgh primaries. All good.

I know someone who had this happen on two consecutive days, so it's easily done.

I once had someone chain their bike up overlapping with mine once in such a way that the QR skewers were trapped betwixt the spokes of their bike's front wheel and had to wait until they came back to free me.

Our bike shed is used to store the wheelie bins. I toy with using it to grow tomatoes but it's got a 50cm space at the bottom.

This morning I used the phrase curve ball to an S2 class and none of them had heard it before.

And you know I never use the bike shed.

Was leaving a school at the end of the morning - bit of a hurry to get to next meeting. Got to the racks, I had chained up way before the bell. However, some kid had come in later and chained his bike through my frame at the back wheel. He said it was an accident but i am not sure. Just had to go round the classes until we found him. Racks always chocker on both sides but never had this before. They are doing bikeability for a whole week next week. So even more bikes than ususal. All good. Can't control for all life's variables and was only minutes late for next meeting.
