yeah I'm not hugely enamoured with the clamping system. Am considering just cable-tieing it directly to the seatpost.

A nice light - the only downside compared with my Smart is the clip, which fits nicely on the bracket, but is loose on the (thick) loop of my seatpack. Robust little thing, though.

(Speedbumps suck).

Hmm, the card security is pretty fierce. I turned it to max as the chancers out there really do try and take the P.

You can achieve the same price in store - just quote that you saw it online. bosh.

Tried ordering but keep getting AVS errors regarding address verification. Sad times.
I'll try and find my other cards and give it a bash with them.

If it's only the old version I still haven't lost/destroyed the one I got last year. Very durable - it's survived several drops from saddle-height onto a concrete floor in the office car park when my helmet has failed to be sufficiently safely temporarily placed.

I got me a Cherry Bomb from TBC yesterday, seeing as someone nicked one of my Cateye tail lights a few months back (outside Waitrose, of all places!)

The Reelight doesn't have a switch or a battery cover.

B&M do a battery tail light with a motion sensor and LDR so it only turns on when it's moving in the dark.

Some generator front lights have an sensor option so you don't need to worry about a switch breaking there either.

I don't think most lights will like much rain as most have a button to push somewhere or access to change batteries, that said that's the cheap ones on my bike and the new ones I picked up the cateye has rubber covered sealed button and a rubber plug on the underside for the charging socket, the electron twin lamps have got a sealed battery unit with it's own cover and connectors to the power leads are seprated by connecting to the switches first

Just acquired one. TBC has good offer on the pack with the 5 LED headlight.

I won't review as that's Anth's job. I can say however that I'm looking forward to trying both items. Particularly like the sensible opening procedure for the headlight. Takes re-chargeables and opening and closing can happen many times with no fuss.
The mount is nice and neat and allows me to use mount with tight space at front of my recumbent (with a little improvisation using 3cm section of old handlebar)

Cherrybomb needs a coin to open - bit like the old oval Cateyes that rewrote the rules way back. It's brighter than some front lights...

Also got the rack light to check out...

FWIW, I did an "in-house" test of the various rear lights we were stocking in TBC last year and opted for the Cherry Bomb for myself.

There are a couple of others (e.g. from Smart) which also have that "non-covered" look to which steveo refers. However, I really like the Cherry Bomb beam pattern (try it against a wall to see what I mean).. and it has an in-built reflector should the batteries fail
