That's some skilful handling wingpig. I normally make a total nonsense attempt of that first corner, slowing down enough that I then meet the first pedestrian coming up the steps at the top of the second slope. I let them have priority, follow through to the third corner and meet them again at number four! It's like we're destined to be in each others' way.

Being very slow and careful I just managed it on a normal bike with a trailer, but fortunately had the whole thing to myself without having to work out how to allow someone oncoming to get past.

I suspect this ramp was designed to accommodate the shallow gradient and level sections required for wheelchair users. The obvious solution to this would have been to replace one of the two sets of stairs with ramps for cyclists.

I'm sure this has been mentioned in the archives but I couldn't find it. Crossing the Western Approach Road from Morrison Crescent to ascend up to Fountainbridge there's a signposted 'shared path' including a ramp.

Tell me I'm not the only person frustrated on a daily basis by that ramp. The first switchback in particular is incredibly tight. I don't even know if longer vehicles or wider vehicles could ascend it at all without being lifted.

How long has this malfeature been there? Who is responsible and why don't they test bicycle paths with bicycles?
