Scotland's Big Nature Festival - Cycle Ride Leader&#60;br /&#62;
Scotland's Big Nature Festival is now in its 4th year. We have moved to Levenhall Links in Musselburgh and supporting families to 'Get there greener'.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;We are looking for cycle ride leaders to guide groups to and from the Meadows in Edinburgh to Levenhall Links in Musselburgh (approx 8miles each way) on Saturday 23rd and/or Sunday 24th May.&#60;br /&#62;
The role involves:&#60;br /&#62;
- Cycle Ride Leader training 9am to 5 pm Saturday 16th May&#60;br /&#62;
- First Aid training 9am to 5pm Sunday 17th May (if needed)&#60;br /&#62;
- Pre-ride preparation including skills and maintenance&#60;br /&#62;
- Briefing participants about the ride&#60;br /&#62;
- Leading the ride at an appropriate pace&#60;br /&#62;
- Highlighting the wildlife and points of interest along the route (info provided)&#60;br /&#62;
- Supporting riders to make sure participants are enjoying the ride. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Post-ride tasks include:&#60;br /&#62;
- Feeding back to the Active Travel Officer about the ride&#60;br /&#62;
- Completing any necessary paperwork&#60;br /&#62;

- Cycle Ride Leader qualification&#60;br /&#62;

- FREE bike check from the Bike Doctor&#60;br /&#62;
- FREE weekend pass and one complimentary meal&#60;br /&#62;
- Ongoing support from Active Travel Officer&#60;br /&#62;
- Gain valuable experience to include on your CV&#60;br /&#62;
The skills you need&#60;br /&#62;
We are looking for people who:&#60;br /&#62;
- Are over 18yrs *ESSENTIAL&#60;br /&#62;
- Are confident cyclists&#60;br /&#62;
- Have knowledge of basic bike maintenance&#60;br /&#62;
- Are able to represent the RSPB in a professional manner&#60;br /&#62;
- Are able to motivate individuals&#60;br /&#62;
- Are well organised&#60;br /&#62;
Your time&#60;br /&#62;
Minimum commitment: Training day, ride planning and 2 hours Am and 2 hours PM one or two days at the event&#60;br /&#62;
Duration: Training day, ride planning and a weekend&#60;br /&#62;
