Also had to take my coffee back to have it reground, as their idea of a 'fine grind' did not work for my filter cone. They're also the sort of place that won't do a proper dark roast 'because it burns the beans'., Sigh. to each their own. </p> <p>I remember the first time I smelled a cup of the filter coffee from Peter's Yard - immediately went there to try some of my own. A nice, quiet small pub. Not full of students, but Uni types welcome. Usually a good mix of people. Excellently kept ales. The railings are generally covered in the bikes of cycling clientèle anyway. It has a great selection of ales. But if you can't get one of the 2 or 3 larger tables you're a bit snookered.
