Didn't hear anything from "local businesses" about this issue. Think they'd complain more if they did actually dig up the tarmac again to relay the sets.</p> <p>As far as I know contractors are supposed to put the road back the way it was beforehand, using same materials. This explains why sometimes you'll see a contractor dig a small section, replace the tarmac to a good standard, then paint road markings etc over the new section - even though the road markings on the rest of the street have worn out.</p> <p>For Burges Street it's worth dropping an email to your local neighbourhood partnership and CC'ing councillors. </p> http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/topic.php?id=14906#post-190007 Wed, 03 Jun 2015 13:15:41 +0000 threefromleith 190007@http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/ <p>Vodafone is digging up a section down Burgess Street onto the Shore right now, and from what they were doing yesterday it looks suspiciously like they'll not be putting the setts back and doing a tarmac patch-up.</p> <p>Of course, I could be wrong.</p> <p>(To be honest, given the state of the setts already on the Shore, I'd prefer to see the whole lot ripped up and a proper tarmac surface put down.
