Looks like it may be an option. Found a non-velib rental company in the Maire who've offered me a bike for €60 for the 5 days. Although for that distance, it would be nice to have something a bit lighter/zippier. Finding the bike rental idea more appealing the more I think about it, would save me the crush of a trip on and back on the RER every day :/. Could be one of those things where the idea is harder than the actual doing, It's something I've never done the times I've been working in Cologne (cos the public transport there is a pleasure) and I've always kind of regretted it. Meaning no metro, no Transilien.
