Although I'm a light rider and it's not a light bike, the 35mm tyres it came with are fairly fast-rolling, and combined with the 725 steel frame make for a very smooth and comfortable ride. I routinely get to work 5-10 minutes faster than on my old Revolution Cross, and I'm sure that's partly because it's so effective at soaking up the bumps. It's perfect for detours through the rougher parts of the Dalmeny Estate when I want to take the scenic route. My 0.5 bike being dead means I am off the road until the new one arrives, hopefully Thursday.</p> <p>On the plus side, Mrs Paddy was talking to one of the other Dads at the school and he was incredulous that I only had 1 bike. This means that her sample size of 2 have 9 bikes between them and she has let it be known in a temporary moment of weakness that a 2nd bike may not be inappropriate. Of course, I had to have a wee test ride. It's very nice.</p> <p>There's nothing like trying out a new bike to get the craving started. Although I'll need to downsize my collection first as my wife is now catching up! We're currently a seven bike household, having been at zero three summers ago...... </p>
