<description>&#60;p&#62;And as a tourist in Vancouver I totally agree. Whilst the downtown segregated network is pretty small it is complete enough for a tourist with child to get to all the main touristy bits of the city. Even better it's really easy, well signed  and importantly feels safe to do a 30km round trip to some of the spectacular beaches on separated track from pedestrians and motorists from downtown Vancouver. At pm rush hour one of the cycle counters was showing day count of 5500. Equivalent would be Lothian road to gullane bents via Leith walk and a fully seperated coastal path.
