There were a load of Utrecht saddles covered with saddle covers promoting the TdF Grand Depart, which was nice. I kind of hope that they were freebies saddle-bombed as a promotional blitz, but I guess they could have been distributed in a number of ways. Still, it was a nice touch.

Antargaz were also launching saddle covers at spectators as they spread the Caravane Publicitaire love ahead of the race.

we quite often come out of work on wet days to find all the saddles covered, but usually with corporate slogans.

I sometimes turn people's lights off if they've left them on, but then I worry that they did it deliberately and will cycle off without lights on their return.

Saddle covering on rainy days does seem like a very good and easy way of spreading a little happiness. Thanks for sharing.

Maybe we should get a CCE squad to go round oiling chains and topping up squidgy tyres?

In the rain on Wednesday morning some kind person put one of the blue overshoes Edinburgh Leisure like to make their punters wear over the saddle of my bike as it sat outside the Commonwealth Pool

Thanks very much if it was you.

Sadly the fairy was not around this morning so I cycled to work with a wet backside. Must remember to carry my own overshoe in future.
