Not the best start. She came back over the cycle path, and all was well after that - apart from ending up cycling through fields in the Tentsmuir Forest.<br /> Leuchars to Markinch was lovely. Quiet roads, nice climbs with good views. We stopped in Ceres for lunch at a brilliant cafe.<br /> Glenrothes to Kirkcaldy was decidedly less lovely. As is said above, narrow painted paths next to very bust roads. I might also avoid cutting through Glenrothes. With it being a 'new-town' it's very car centric, wide roads, fast speed limits. Better to cut down towards Coaltown of Balgownie. Official NCN1 will bring you all the way down (plenty links on here. I'm looking for a nice quiet route, will be cycling with a friend who has a heavy bike. I'm trying to figure out whether to take the roadie, or the cross bike. Probably cross for carrying and comfort utility. </p>
