"
Cities don't have to invent something entirely new. We found examples of cities from all around the world that are already doing a great job, and much can be learned from them. In fact, these active cities and many others are what helped us identify the common ingredients for success.

@Min We're all long dead, and now exist only in a simulation. In the current one the coefficient of selfishness was set a little too high but they're letting it play out to see how much shorter this run is than usual.

Maybe the remaining 96% of Wilmington's Cow's little old ladies not killed by cyclists taking lefts on red can be disposed of by making them walk in the wind and rain.

Walking on a nice summer's day is fine but try it when the gales are blowing.

It does sometimes amaze me that the human race manages to still exist. What has happened to us?

Whit a bunch o' fannies. So much for Scotland's hardman image...

Another relatively cheap "but we are doing something" without the inconvenience of actually having to put any effort in or, God forbid, do anything that might possibly offend voters.

And as usual people melt in the rain (second comment):

"They do realise we live in the North where rain and wind determine whether it's nice enough to walk? Walking on a nice summer's day is fine but try it when the gales are blowing."

I do wonder at all of these endless campaigns that basically just say to people "Hey, walking and cycling is really good for you, why not try it to get to work?" without any infrastructure as an incentive to do it, or restrictions on motor vehicles as a disincentive to use the, and realise the utter pointlessness of them. I wonder how many people are employed to come up with this and maintain the facade that things are changing?

I like this!

"Hey jumbo, get of your jacksie and get walking"

Obesity crisis averted, NHS saved etc. I'm amazed no-one has thought of this before...

The new Active Travel #walktaework campaign will help participants relieve stress, boost their mood and clear their head as they swap their cars for their own two legs, the Scottish Government insists.
