"It would have been nice if the Cycle Team had put out a public request for suggestions on where bike racks are needed."

I think they get by with requests from Spokes members and CCEers!

But it would certainly be a good idea to list the proposed sights on the CEC web site (along with existing installations) which would help to highlight 'gaps'.

Got a quick response about this one:

"I can confirm that the Cycle team are currently putting together a programme for cycle rack installations over the next 12 months. We are looking to go out to tender in the next 6-8 weeks.

The location that you have mentioned is already on the list to receive 3 cycle racks."

It would have been nice if the Cycle Team had put out a public request for suggestions on where bike racks are needed. Hopefully the list of potential sites will be published.

I've also been trying to get some cycle parking at the North End of Station Rd (near St John's Road).

Will make scoffing the marvellous cake at The Original Coffee Bean easier.

I've just emailed them to request racks be installed outside the Tesco at Roseburn. There would be room ok the wide bit of pavement on Russell Road.

Hello,

I know various answers to this lie in the forum, but I'm asking since I know some people have been recently successful and I wanted to solicit advice.

Specifically, there is a bit of a problem with bike parking outside the Dagda - I know this is a problem shared with many other pubs. The canonical place to lock bikes, quite reasonably, is to the railings outside the front of the Archer's Hall. The problem is that this is damaging the railings - one possible solution is to ask for sheffield stands on the wider bit of pavement just outside the Archer's Hall.

I'd be really grateful for any advice for what the best mechanism for getting the ear of the council is.

thanks as always
