The two are very different things; different halves of Colinton will be in different wards. Colinton will still be in the (former) village of Colinton, which needs to get over the fact it was swallowed up by the city many, many years ago. The only signs that tell you which electoral sub-division you are in are those between council areas. When was the last time you saw a "Welcome to the Edinburgh East Constituency" or "You are Now Leaving South Team, Come Again Soon" signs?
