<description>&#60;p&#62;I tend to agree but the planners may be doing them a favour; the shop next door is a &#34;posh&#34; coffee and cake place and I hardly ever see many in it, I don't know how it survives.  A similar venture two blocks along did not.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;As for the &#34;garden&#34;, they'll need to secure it with barbed wire lest local youth continues to use it as a dope smoking venue.

&#60;p&#62;...but the planners are opposed. Apparently, because 1/3 of units are in non-retail use. Maybe the planners should consider that there are lots of empty units in Corstorphine,  a lot of  charity shops make up those occupied, and that maybe there isn't that much demand for retail units?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Maybe there is more to this, but surely it's better to have occupied units rather than &#34;To Let&#34; signs everywhere?
