From twitter: "copenhagenize Personally, I'd recommend Bike Training from the Dutch, rather than the Danes: http://bit.ly/aDWrbD"

And that is from a normally patriotic Dane!

Einie food has stuck with me since I first saw that film.

I have you at an advantage - that is some very funny dialogue but I think eytee food is what the dad says. THe dad is great. He has heart attack type episode at his used car lot when his son offers some shit fdor brains students a refund

when he comes round at home in bed he is still muttering the same phrase over and over in a confused and alarmed state "Refund, refund.,refunsd.."

The mum and dad who seem late 40s conceive a child during the movie. For further real life info of a parallel nature amongst our shared cohort of old school friends I will PM the wee folding one.

It's on my Amazon Wish List. Number one son got me Futtock's End off my list so Breaking Away might turn up some time too.

but wait, there is a great cycling opening sequence in Happy Go Lucky

meant to say I received Breaking Away from Love Film - even better than I remembered. Good coming of age and university versus townie storylines - the Cinzano racing team, heroes have feet of clay and people you think have feet of clay can be heroes too. All cycling scenes shot really well, including overtaking a juggernaut at 60 Kph. Bizarre single speed bicycle version of the Indy 500 at the end. I must send it back so that someone else can get it out (I might have Love Film's only copy)

Dang. I was going to use the Pashley and lock it up nearby (but not right outside). If the man himself likes bikes I might just take a Brompton in with me as usual.

32 times Candace Marie.

I saw Bleak Moments at GFT, it was Bleak but has stayed with me. Mike Leigh was not present - doctor's son from Salford, very keen on cycling [one of these statements may not be true] I always suspect librarians now of drinking a bottle of sherry a night.

In Despicable Me (a french cartoon for kids and their parents, but not exclusively this demog] the hero/villain nearly gets away with describing the orphanage owner as having a face like a mule. He says it in spanish whilst first checking she can't speak spanish. Course now I am not sure what fox-like is in Spanish

Link to bikes- family of 5 (The Gembos) in Dominion today courtesy of free tickets coz we logged our cycling earlier in the month, all lounging in the sofa cinema, of Morningside, no plebians at all, frothy cappucinos to stop the adults falling asleep on the sofas whilst watching the film. Also usherette with torch - beat that Foldster

While in Denmark last week all but one child I saw on a bike had a helmet on, and lots of the parents too. As I mentioned in my post the one person I asked about it said that he thought helmet use was on the increase.
