A mate stayed on Marionville Road 15 years ago and used to get in his old Ford Fiesta of a Sunday to find the odd button pinched from his stereo.

Couldn't prove it but reckoned it was a chap down the road slowly rebuilding his one !

The tickets last a year, so we went back there today. Only one bolt stolen this time, perhaps due to me restricting access to that area with my padlock.

I'd tightened them (and they weren't loose) before loading onto the car rack, so it would have to be some very thorough jiggling for both to have completely unwound. I'll check if I have any photos from the way in on Saturday with they stays visible. I suspect unimaginative mischief rather than attempted theft as the lower bolts can only be removed from inside the rear triangle with the wheel off.

Any chance they rattled free during you trip there? (unlikely I know but...) Unless someone was trying to take the rack and got disturbed.

Actually yesterday, but I didn't notice until unlocking this afternoon. Beware if parking your bike at one of Beamish's eight bike racks, five of which are wheel twisters.

If someone really wanted some M5 bolts then there were a pair on the under-downtube bottle cage mount which would have been much easier to remove as I use the inward-facing sides of the seat stay rack bosses.
