<description>&#60;p&#62;If only our police force took similar action. If Police Scotland really want to protect vulnerable road users they should get out on bikes and start ticketing bad driving.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;They wouldn't even have to do it often, just spread the word that they are doing it on a regular basis. Idiots on the road behave like they do as they know there is almost no chance of prosecution for it.

<description>&#60;p&#62;I've read of this 3 ft passing rule in some American states. I feel that 3 ft isn't enough in general, and only safe in very slow moving traffic. I recall seeing (UK) advice that cars should pass cyclists leaving enough room that if they fell off sideways, the cars would miss them. That's nearer 5 or 6 ft. Is that advice in the HC?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Also interesting that all 5 comments in the article were sympathetic to the cyclists. Can you imagine if it were in the EEN?
