Noise is in the nature of inner cities and something that makes them attractive. </p> <p>Similarly I can't fathom people who move above a pub and then complain that there's music, to the point that about half the live music in Edinburgh has been banned and it's become difficult for local musos to get gigs. Noise and liveliness are part of a city. Noise came from traffic using the now mainly pedestrianised cobbled section, singing(!), fights, the periodic visits from Ian Paisley to the Covenanters memorial (psalm singing), and the regular Orange and Green marches that ended in the Grassmarket, often dramatically. Always noisy.</p> <p>Spotted what might be either a train or an ice skating rink in a circular lap style complete with bridges for going over and into the pub being built in St. Andrews sq gardens.
