It's possible they got to it before the canals people. How they had failed to spot the broken tile, which was white and strewn across the full width of the path, is hard to imagine... There are still several areas of broken glass along the section from Wester Hailes Road bridge to the footbridge - in most cases they are towards the side of the path rather than covering it but it would obviously be better if removed completely rather than swept aside. Over a stretch of about 10 metres, near the footbridge at Murrayburn/WHEC, there were three big pools of broken glass with scattered shards in between. </p>
